Dear Students and Parents of St. Joseph’s School,

I hope this letter finds you all doing well.  Once again the summer flew by, but I hope that you and your family were able to spend some quality time together.  The time has come to turn our thoughts towards the beginning of school.  Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

The first official day of school for Kindergarten through 6th grade will be Tuesday, August 21.  This will be our “Meet and Greet Open House Day” where students and parents can come any time between 8:15 and 3:00 to meet their teachers, put school supplies in their desks, pay hot lunch fees, and enjoy a cookie and lemonade. Because this is the official first day of school, attendance is mandatory. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  The first full day of class will be Wednesday, August 22nd.

Kindergarten students will be receiving an email regarding sign-up for kindergarten testing, which will take place August 22nd & 23rd at Gloria Dei Church.  The first full day of class for kindergarten students will be Friday, August 24th.

You will have an opportunity to meet all of our new staff members at the open house!  Our new teachers include: Miss Hoover, Kindergarten; Mrs. Stepanek, 1st grade; Mrs. Mendis, 2nd grade; Mrs. Westerman, 3rd grade; Miss Cherne, 5th grade; Mrs. Huravitch, Preschool; Mrs. Everson, PE; Miss Black, music; and Mrs. Doran, music.

You can find the 2018-2019 School Calendar and School Supply List on our website under the Resources tab.  Please check the website daily as this is how parents will be informed of upcoming events, changes, and all things going on at St. Joseph’s School.

Please take time now to review the Parent-Student Handbook on the school website.  At the end of the handbook is a Parent Signature Page that must be printed, signed, and turned in to the school office before your child may begin their first day of school.

Deposits can now be made for your child’s meal account through FACTS or by bringing payment to the school office.

The 4:13 Club, our after-school program, is now accepting applications!  Applications and details are available on our web site under the Resources tab.

Enjoy your last days of summer vacation.  I look forward to seeing all of you on August 21st.

God Bless!

Julie Quamme, Principal
