HAPPY EASTER!

April 25, 2019
By Mrs. Julie Quamme

Happy Easter; Jesus Christ is risen! I hope everyone had a blessed Easter break and is enjoying the octave of Easter.  May His great deed be remembered and cherished!

As the year winds down, we have a lot of activities going on before the school year ends!

Many of our 2nd grade students will make their First Reconciliation on Saturday, April 27th, and their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 5th. Please keep these students in your prayers:

Olivia A., Camila E., Molly J., Kayden K., Parker K., Makenna L., Addy L., Connor M., Danica N., Landon O., Robert R., Gavin R., Capri V., Paxton W., Brooklyn W., and Asher Z.

We are very excited to welcome Mr. Anthony Morris to St. Joseph's School! Mr. Morris will be our Band teacher for 5th and 6th grade beginning in the fall. A survey regarding band will be sent home to students in 4th and 5th grade at the beginning of May.

St. Joseph’s has 3rd grade and 5th grade teaching positions and a part-time librarian position open for the 2019-2020 school year. If you are interested, or know of someone who would be a great fit for our school, please contact me at 701-572-6384 or julie.quamme@k12.nd.us for more information or to apply for the position.

The last PTO meeting of the school year will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, at 7:00 PM in the Conference Room. All parents are encouraged to attend!  Time spent attending the meeting can be used as service hours.

Mark your calendars! Our Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, May 15th, at 7:00 PM in the gymnasium. Please plan to join us in listening to our talented students perform!

The last day for 4/5-year-old Preschool will be May 17th, and May 16th for 3-year-old preschool.

A recognition Mass for our 6th grade students will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, in the church at 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be served after Mass in O'Neill Hall. We will miss our 6th graders as they move on to the Middle School! We wish them well and pray for abundant blessings on their life journey. Congratulations to:

Samantha A., Klinton B., Norah C., Ethan C., Bode E., Owan G., Robin H., Kale H., Grace J., Katelyn K., Greysen K., Rylee M., Rachael M., Matthew S., Lola S., Sheldon T., and Elias V.

Step-Up Mass will be held at 8:30 AM on Friday, May 24th for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. This is our last day of school; students are dismissed after Mass. There will be no Afterschool Care on the last day of school.

Please continue to remind your child to bring appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather. Students still need to bring a light jacket or sweatshirt because morning recess can be chilly!

Please remember to report your service hours to the school office by the last day of school! Hours not reported by May 24th will be assessed a fee of $25/hour.

School Mass is moving to a new time this fall! Mass will begin at 8:30 AM instead of 9:00 beginning in August.

State testing is coming to an end, and the weather is nicer. We are all more easily distracted, and it can be hard to stay focused.  There are still four weeks of school left and our teachers are committed to engaging the students in learning until the very end.  This time of year provides us the opportunity to help our students finish strong!
