I would like to wish you a blessed Advent season as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ! December always brings about lots of activity, and I would like to let you in on all the happenings at St. Joseph's School:
Our World’s Finest Chocolate sale is in full swing! This is one of our school’s biggest fundraisers. World’s Finest Chocolate makes a great Christmas gift for neighbors, co-workers, family and friends!
Advent Services are held each Monday morning in December, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Students in grades 1, 3, and 5 will be leading the Advent service each week. All families are invited to attend!
The 4th grade students will be singing Christmas carols at American State Bank on Thursday, Dec. 12th at 11:00 a.m. If you are downtown please stop by to listen to our very talented students perform!
Donuts With Dads (grandpas too) will be held in the cafeteria this Friday (Dec. 13th) from 7:45 – 8:15. Please RSVP to the school office no later than noon on Wednesday, Dec. 11th.
Our students and staff have been working hard preparing for the St. Joseph’s School Christmas program, which will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the church. The choir, violinists, and band members will be performing special selections for you, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Thank you to Mrs. Driscoll (Choir), Mrs. Doran (Kindergarten Music and Violin), and Mr. Morris (Band) for all your hard work in preparing the students for this event!
Many of you have already purchased the new St. Joseph's sweatshirts and other apparel that were recently offered. If you did not get your order in, there will be some items for sale after the Christmas program on December 18th. If there is enough interest, we would like to place another order after Christmas. If you have any questions, please call Abbey Dahlberg at 701-770-1167.
We would like to wish the best to Brittney Kratchovil as she finishes her degree in elementary education this December. Brittney was our student teacher in grade 6 this fall. Our students enjoyed having her in the classroom, and we wish her well. Thank you for all you did for our school and students, Brittney!
Congratulations also to Maria Semenko, who will be graduating with her elementary education degree from Minnesota State University - Moorhead on December 19th. Miss Semenko will be taking over as the 5th grade classroom teacher beginning January 2, 2020. Thank you, Mary Bertsch, for filling in as our long-term substitute for Grade 5 this fall. Our students are blessed to have had you as their teacher!
Reminder that the last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, Dec. 20th. School will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2nd. The students will be watching a movie and eating popcorn in the gym on Friday afternoon. We are looking for 3-4 adults who are able to pop popcorn on December 20 at 9:30 a.m. If you are interested in helping out, please call Julie in the office at 701-572-6384.
As we begin 2020, I sincerely pray that each one of you has a new and wonderful year filled with abundant blessings! May your Christmas be filled with joy as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
